Help me to understand what you hope to accomplish with these tea party events, please. Current spending and deficits are scary, but they were equally scary last year, the year before and the year before that. So why act now? Is this partisan? If so, tell me your solutions. It seems to me to be very easy to criticize, but where is your constructive solutions?

No, They were not EQUALLY scary last year and the year before. New spending this year makes previous years look like money in the bank! I'm a democrat who hopes to influence Washington's current spending spree for the better so forget the partisan and criticism lines. And get a clue!

In my humble opinion, the spending spree we're seeing now can trace its roots back to "No Child Left Behind." I challenge you to find anything about education in the United States Constitution. You won't find any references.

If you want constructive solutions, how's this for starters? Eliminate the Department of Education and immediately return all federal authority over education back to the states and local school boards.

Here's another. Immediately defund the antiquated Space Shuttle program and eliminate NASA. Why? Both programs eat millions, if not billions of dollars each year and do not accomplish anything immediately constructive.

Here's another. Abolish the Federal Reserve system and immediately return authority to its proper venue, the United States Congress. This next one is my own personal belief and should be treated as such. We should immediately return to the gold standard and stop using the federal government's full faith and credit.

I could go on and on with constructive solutions. They won't be popular solutions, but they will save billions of dollars with just the elimination of DOE, NASA and the Federal Reserve.
